Mrs. Spring and I are very excited about our Family Folk Song Project!! In the month of December, we are going to be asking Grade Three students to participate in this wonderful project. We are learning about songs that we can sing with our families as well as the culture of our community through folk songs.
Please teach your child to sing a song from your family that they can share in class. It could be a song that a parent or other relative learned as a child, including a lullaby, hand-clapping game, or finger-play. We would love to hear songs from different languages as well.
A paper will be coming home with your Grade Three students the week of December 1st.
Students and their families will write the lyrics or words of the song on the back of the paper.
Students will share their songs in Music class during the week of December 14th-18th.
Questions? Please e-mail Mrs. Oliver or Mrs. Spring:
Mrs. Oliver: [email protected] (Mrs. Eddy and Mrs. Rutman's classes).
Mrs. Spring: [email protected] (Mrs. Faherty, Mrs. Maher and Mrs. Walsh's classes).
Thank you so much for your help with The Family Folk Song Project!! We look forward to hearing your family's song!!
